"We went to Talbot's to return a gift, and we ended up at the mall," Johnston said. "She lives eight hours away, and most of the time when we visit, we don't have time to shop. This gives us the opportunity to shop together, so we left the men at home." Johnston said the majority of items in the shopping cart belonged to her daughter, but she said Macy's would not be their only stop. "I picked up one item for my granddaughter and one for me," Johnston said. "The amount of time we spend shopping will depend on the time and money we spend on our next stop." Sammy Tillman and wife Michelle were heading for their home in Brownsville after making their final stop at Bath & Body Works in the mall. "We've been here about an hour," Michelle said. "We found a few items marked down on clearance at Bath & Body Works, and we've also been in Macy's and Journeys, a shoe store." Sammy, an associate pastor at First Methodist Church in Brownsville, said the visit to the mall on the day after Christmas was not traditional for him and his wife. "But it does seem they are busier now than they were before Christmas," Sammy said. Jackson resident Wilma Trolinger continued shopping at JCPenney after exchanging some gifts. "I just got here, and there was a line, but it went real nice," Trolinger said. "One of the gifts I received was a gift card, so I might use it." Across town at The Columns on Vann Drive, James Elam of Dyersburg stood outside Kohl's michael kors handbags waiting on his wife. "I used to live in Jackson, and we normally shop in Jackson," Elam said. "My wife is in Kohl's, and my son is here, but I don't know which store he's in. We've been here since this morning, and they are still shopping. I'm ready to go home." Elam said The Columns was not the first stop he and his family made. "We got to the (Old Hickory) mall at 9 a.m., and we found quite a bit of bargains," Elam said. "Assorted items — my wife found some boots and I found some khaki pants." LaKeshia Turner of Milan made Old Navy her cheap michael kors handbags outlet first stop, because the retailer is one of her favorites. "I'm buying, nothing to exchange," Turner said.
